Cut cantaloupes, honeydew melons, pineapples and even small watermelons into twelve slices quickly and easily. The Melon Cutter is the big brother to our Fruit Slicer and works pretty much the same.
The Melon Cutter will work with just about any melon or pineapple
up to eight inches in diameter. Most cantaloupes are around five to six inches in diameter and honeydews can be a bit larger. We tried it one of the round mini-watermelons and it worked perfectly.
The Melon Cutter features stainless steel blades and Grip-EZ handles for a firm, soft grip--even when wet.
Just follow these simple instructions:
- Cut both ends of the melon flat to add stability and to give the cutting blades a good, even start. That prevents the melon from rolling as you put pressure on the Melon Cutter. If you have ever tried sitting on a beach ball, you will understand how this helps to deliver a straight cut.
- Place the melon on a cutting board or other protective surface.
- Place the Melon Cutter on the top of the melon, grip the soft handles, and press down firmly. If it gets a little tough to slice through a firm melon, just rock the Melon Slicer gently and it will keep cutting.
- Press all the way through to the bottom.
