This is a real nice low-cost digital scale for kitchen or general use. Only two buttons operate operate the features. One button turns the unit on or off and also activates the tare feature. The other button selects either grams or ounces for the units of measure. Operation of the scale could not be easier.
The tare feature is nice if you want to accurately weigh just the ingredients in a recipe. You can weigh the ingredients while eliminating the weight of the container. To use the tare feature, simply place the empty container on the scale. Press the tare button to zero the display. Anything that you add to container is accurately weighted separately. You can even add ingredients one at a time and weigh each individually by pressing the On/Tare/Off button to reset the scale to zero after adding each ingredient. That is a very nice time saving feature.
This Escali Primo runs on two AA batteries (included). There is a low battery indicator and an automatic shutoff feature which turns the scale off after 4 minutes of non-use to conserve battery life.
