For some reason, pets just love drinking from a stream of flowing water. The Drinkwell Big-Dog Pet Drinking Fountain is built especially for big water drinkers, including any large or medium-sized breed of dog or a number of smaller dogs. This unit has a whopping 2.25 gallon (288 ounces) capacity in a transparent reservoir. A large 5-inch high bowl serves water to your furry family friend and acts as a splash guard to help keep the water from sloshing onto your floor. Rubber feet prevent the Drinkwell Big-Dog Fountain from sliding.

Falling water adds oxygen to the water for freshness and the replaceable coconut shell charcoal filters remove debris, bad taste and odors. There is a flow control so that you set the rate of water flow.

Be sure to order extra replacement filters for your Big-Dog Pet Fountain. They are available as the Original Replacement Filters Or Premium Replacement Filters. The filter should be replaced every 2 to 4 weeks, so make sure that you have extra filters on hand. We also offer the Drinkwell Cleaning Kit to help keep your Big-Dog Pet Fountain clean and fresh.

Why do dogs love running water?
In nature, running water is much fresher than water that sits and stagnates. The movement of falling water breaks the surface tension of the water and aerates it by allowing the water to absorb more oxygen. Animals are naturally attracted to fresh, running water and that is the concept behind the Big-Dog pet Fountain. The freshness of oxygenated water encourages pets to drink more water, which is better for their health.
