Book Safe

Sometimes the best way to secure cash, jewelry and valuables is to hide it in plain view. A book safe is an actual hardcover book that has been hollowed out to provide a hiding place for your valuables.

Interviews with thieves indicate that most burglars spend less than six minutes inside a victim's home. They only have a brief time to check the most obvious places for valuables, such as in drawers and closets. With this product you can hide your valuables in an inconspicuous place -- in an ordinary book. A book safe and other types of "diversion safes" are popular methods for hiding your valuables.

This book safe is made from an actual, unused, hardcover book. The dust jacket with the book is brand new. The books used are standard hardcover novels measuring approximately 9-1/2 x 6-3/8 x 1-3/4 inches. Inside each book is a secret plastic compartment for storing valuables. The dimensions of the interior compartment are 6-3/4 x 3-3/4 x 1-1/4 inches. How large is that? it is approximately the same size as a Stephen King novel in paperback, so there is plenty of room for stashing your cash and valuables.

The compartment is flocked to muffle noise if the book is moved.here is a tip: If you really want to make jewelry and coins hard to discover, simply wrap them in a handkerchief to further muffle the sound.

The titles for the books vary. Because we never know which books will be purchased for conversion into book safes, we cannot offer a choice of book titles. The images shown on this page are examples of actual book safes, but the title that you receive may be different. A very standard sized book is used, so if you don't like the title, just replace the dust jacket from a similarly sized hardcover book.

The book is shipped with two dust jackets. A second just jacket with the the words "The Undercover Booksafe" is used to protect the main dust jacket. When you receive your book safe, simply discard the protective dust jacket, add any cash and valuables you wish to hide to the secret compartment and mix the book safe with other books on a book shelf.
